There’s nothing quite like the fresh air and peaceful surroundings you get in Scotland. Sadly I rarely get to spend any time there anymore, but when I do I like to make sure I book a trip or take a long drive. So this time I visited Ballater, which is the sweetest village surrounded by hills and mountains and filled with independent stores and cafes. I used to camp there every year as a child and going back felt amazing- even the Queen loves a holiday to Ballater in the summer time! If you ever get the chance to visit, you have to swing by the old Sweetie Shop and try out their Scottish tablet and fudge!
This blue kick-flare co-ord from Topshop is probably my life at the moment, so I wore it around the village and matched the Scottish flags (they are everywhere in Ballater) with my Harris Tweed shoulder bag. If I could wear this everyday I think I would, kick flares are going to be my staple this Autumn.
My trip was exactly what I needed to recharge and catch up with friends and family. Home sweet home and all that!
